A month has passed already and it is time for another CARDevotional. For
those of you not having the pleasure of partaking in this before, I'll
break it down.
At 8:00pm we begin the night calmly with readings from different
religions as we ponder the essence of life. After this spiritually
uplifting program we will then indulge ourselves in hours of card-playin'
and board
games. There is not pre-set limit on when the night of fun will end nor
pre-set limit on the unlimited fun you'll have.
Please invite your friends, family and neighbors (especially
friends)--anyone over 15 is joyfully welcome to this all-age, all-night
extravaganza. I don't have everyone's e-mail so if you want to forward
this to your entire contact list, more power to you!
Also, so I have a good idea how many pizzas, wings, chips, sodas,
cookies, and cakes to buy, please send me an e-mail to RSVP. This is
actually very important, although don't let not RSVPing stop you from
partaking in this nocturnal cards fest.

note: as for the pizzas and stuff, I was,

pick it up, because it sure won't be here!
More Details:
The CARDevotional is a means of helping people attain inner peace in this
crowded and frenetic world. It works by creating an atmosphere in which
mind, body and spirit are soothed and made tranquil. There is no special
"spiritual technique" involved, no mantra, and no specifically religious
practices.

We promote the CARDevotional as an oasis of calm and well-being for the
body, mind and soul. It is held in a beautiful candlelit setting engulfed
in redolent fragrance. Guests can enjoy a few unhurried moments to
reflect on some inspiring words mainly from the Bahá'í Writings, with
soothing music, specially chosen to uplift the heart and nourish the soul.
The interplay of cards and games adds a social element that forges
friendships and brings abstract spiritual principles and virtues, into the
material realm. The CARDevotional is a community service which has been
running in Ottawa since January 2003.
"It
is a multi-sensory experience of peace and serenity, where participants
can enjoy a break from their busy lives and enjoy some uplifting music,
words, and games."
"And as they reflect on nourishing the spiritual side of life and
nurturing a sense of well-being, it can help them cope with the increasing
levels of stress in our hectic world." |
