Best Friend Extravaganza

      Ariel and Sarah have been and continue to be my best friends. Ariel I met the year I moved to North Miami Beach from a little island in the Caribbean called Barbados. I attended his Bar mitzvah and he went to all of my birthdays - on one occasion even giving me a still cherished 1/125 replica of a Lamborghini Diablo. Sarah and I performed in the South Florida Baha'i Youth Workshop together around age 15 yet began our friendship on the phone when she was visiting Gainesville. We went to the Seminole Hard  Rock Hotel and Casino to watch a comedy show. Native Americans are federally allowed to offer gambling on their sites - these mega complexes are the next logical outcome in the evolution of this phenomenon - a mini-community replete with 4 night clubs, jazz clubs, a comedy theatre, dozens of shops and restaurants and of course massive gambling halls for those who despise the possession of their money.

I surreptitiously snapped a picture of the over 100 Texas No Limit Hold'em tables.


I wonder many how many suckers lost their fortunes to allow the casino to give this away. Interestingly, before we went here we visited 3 pawn shops in the area who all mentioned that they had noticed a sizable jump in business upon the opening of this casino. Gambling is a phenomena I may never understand as I'm drawn under the surest protection from all of this trivial and fruitless nonsense :)
