1. Who we are
This Notice explains how Martin's Quest handles your personal data. We are the data controller for the personal data described below.
Martin's Quest is a trading name of Alex Frontzos, a sole trader established in Greece, acting as data controller. Contact: support@martinsquest.com.
2. Personal data we collect
- Account data: email address, nickname, hashed password.
- Game data: your progress, best scores, and leaderboard runs.
- Purchase data: whether you have unlocked the paid cities, and the identifier linking your account to the order. Payment details (card numbers etc.) are collected and stored solely by Paddle, not by us.
- Support messages: any messages you send us.
- Technical data: IP address, user agent, and error diagnostics.
3. Purposes and legal bases
- Provide the Service and your account — performance of a contract.
- Process purchases and provide entitlements — performance of a contract.
- Publish leaderboards using your nickname — performance of a contract.
- Security, fraud prevention, error diagnostics — legitimate interests.
- Customer support — legitimate interests / contract.
- Comply with tax and accounting obligations — legal obligation.
4. Sharing
We share personal data only with:
- Paddle.com Market Limited — Merchant of Record for the sale of the product, entitlement management, payments, tax compliance, and invoicing.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers (Lovable Cloud / Supabase, Cloudflare) — processors acting on our instructions.
- Professional advisers (accounting, legal) where necessary.
- Authorities — where required by law.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
5. Retention
We keep account and game data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account we delete or irreversibly anonymise your data promptly, except where we must retain records for legal or tax reasons (typically up to the statutory retention period in Greece).
6. Your rights under the GDPR
As the Service is operated from the EU, the General Data Protection Regulation applies. You have the right to:
- Access — obtain a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure — have your data deleted ("right to be forgotten").
- Restriction — limit how we process your data.
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, at any time, without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.
Email support@martinsquest.com to exercise any right. We will respond within one month of receiving your request, extendable by two further months for complex requests (we will tell you if that happens). You can also delete your account yourself at any time from the account page.
If you believe we have handled your data unlawfully you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Greece this is the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (HDPA) — or with the authority in your country of residence.
7. International transfers
Our processors may transfer personal data outside the EEA. Where they do, they rely on appropriate safeguards such as European Commission adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures (TLS in transit, encryption at rest, row-level security in the database, restricted admin access) to protect personal data.
9. Cookies and local storage
We use essential cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, remember your game progress, and store your sound preference. We do not use marketing, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies, so no cookie consent banner is required. You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings.
10. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16; if you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
